Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced bilingual Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team! In this vital role, you will manage and execute payroll processes, ensure compliance with all payroll regulations, and assist with general HR-related tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll systems, compliance requirements, and excellent interpersonal skills to support employees with payroll-related inquiries. This new role at Overture is based in Waukegan, IL, and requires in-office presence five days a week.


Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including timesheets, deductions, and adjustments.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports and summaries for management review.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies, including deductions, tax withholdings, and overtime calculations.
  • Coordinate with Accounting for payroll funding and reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
  • Stay updated on payroll laws and ensure company practices comply with all applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required tax filings, including quarterly and annual payroll tax reports.
  • Assist with payroll audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
  • Generate and analyze reports related to payroll for management review.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries.
  • Educate employees about payroll processes, including deductions, tax withholdings, and paycheck information.
  • Conduct payroll orientation sessions for new hires to explain payroll processes and policies.
Qualifications:
  • Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in payroll administration.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Namely) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
